Airport Case Study
One of the busiest airports in the world, has massively deployed IoT-enabled systems – such as video surveillance and access control, self-check-in kiosks and automated bag drop systems, HVAC and elevators – to improve passenger experience, and optimize its security and operational efficiency.
Alongside these advantages, IoT has also introduced new challenges: the vulnerability of connected devices, their ongoing maintenance, and the lack of automation in the IoT operations. The airport understood that the shutdown of one or more devices could jeopardize the airport security, passenger safety and data privacy, and sought a solution to manage the ongoing operations of these devices at scale.
