From Pulling Data on Your Fleet to Actioning It: API Enhancements and the MCP Server - Sept 2026

We recently shared enhancements to the SecuriThings Developer Center. Now we want to focus on what it helps you use: a more capable API, and a new way to reach your fleet through AI assistants with the SecuriThings MCP Server, now in Early Access.

The API now acts, not just reads

Until now, the SecuriThings API was mostly a way to pull your fleet data out. With this release, you can also push your tasks in: the same remediation actions you run inside SecuriThings can now be triggered from your own tools, without logging into the platform.

A new Tasks endpoint accepts a task type and a list of target devices, so you can run on one device or thousands in a single call, then track status and results per device. Because it uses the same underlying task engine as the SecuriThings console, an action triggered through the API behaves exactly like one run in the platform, with the same audit trail and safeguards.

Supported tasks today:

• Restart
• Password rotation
• SSL and 802.1x certificate rotation
• Device onboarding

More are on the way, including firmware upgrade and device hardening. The goal is a platform where anything you can do in the console, you can also do through the API.

What you can build with it

• Fleet-wide task automation. Rotate credentials or restart devices across thousands of devices in one call, on your own schedule, ahead of an audit or as part of routine maintenance.
• Zero-touch onboarding. Discover newly detected devices and onboard them through the API, so they're in the system before anyone touches the console.
• Remediation from your existing workflows. Trigger a task from the ticketing or automation tools your team already uses, such as kicking off a certificate renewal straight from a ServiceNow workflow.

The MCP Server: your fleet, in plain language

Not everyone who needs to act on the fleet is going to call an API. The SecuriThings MCP Server, now in Early Access, connects the platform to AI assistants like Claude, so you can simply say what you want, for example, restarting the offline cameras at a given site, and let the assistant carry it out. No device IDs, no scripts, no dashboard.

It's built for security operations leads, IT managers, and executives who want a quick answer or action without opening another tool. And it keeps the controls that matter: you sign in as yourself, actions run in your own identity, and everything carries the same audit trail, staged rollout, and automatic rollback on failure as any task run inside SecuriThings.
